Armed police catch their man

Police arrested a 28-year old man at Prospect Primary School yesterday on a firearms warrant ? despite narrowly missing him in a major raid on a derelict Deepdale Road, Pembroke residence earlier. Police media relations officer Dwayne Caines said the man had been apprehended ?without incident? just after 5 p.m. yesterday evening with no gun in his possession.

Shortly after 1 p.m., officers descended in numbers on One Way Deep Dale Road off Parsons Road, Pembroke, together with an Emergency Response Team ? armed with submachine guns ? reacting to reports the man was hiding out there.

While Police were unable to trap their target at the scene ? despite blocking the narrow road off from both ends ? four other men in the area were taken into custody after it was discovered warrants had been issued for their arrest.

Neighbours revealed was involved in a fight with another individual who allegedly stabbed him in the chin and burned his jacket.
