The Crown began procedures in the Supreme Court to seize assets from convicted drug smuggler Kirk Roberts, yesterday.

Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Kulandra Ratneser issued papers giving Roberts' lawyer four weeks to respond.

Roberts was represented by Mark Pettingill, who had handled the 2002 trial in which the 42-year-old former boatwright was jailed for ten years for conspiring with Vincentian Alphonso Holder and others to import 200 pounds of marijuana.

The Crown will be seeking to seize all Roberts' assets ? including real estate, his boat yard, boats, vehicles and monies held in trust.

Police stumped

A raid for cigarettes at the Bailey's Bay Cricket Club has left Police stumped.

The last person to leave the Club on Thursday night is sure that she locked everything up before she left.

But at 4.30 a.m. Police went to the scene because an alarm on the premises had been activated.

Upon arrival Police discovered the cigarette machine had been broken into, and the culprit had helped themselves to an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.
