A 21-year-old man appeared in Magistrates? Court yesterday after he allegedly swiped a Samurai sword at a dog warden.

Everett Jahni Bean, of Jones Lane, Warwick was charged with unlawfully assaulting Fabian Minors.

He is also accused of having an offensive weapon in a public place, and obstructing the duties of Jeffery Benevides and Fabian Minors. It is claimed the incident occurred at the Warwick Post Office on Tuesday after Mr. Minors took Bean?s dog away.

Shakira Dill appeared for the Crown and Ed Bailey for the defence.

The court heard that there were several witnesses at the scene.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves denied bail and remanded Bean in custody until he is to appear in court again on December 24.
