British Airways has announced plans to introduce a fifth weekly flight between Bermuda and London next summer.

From June next year, the airline will operate a direct additional flight on Mondays, as well as the usual Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

BA did not specify which day the new flight will take place.

"We intend to support the all-important business and tourism sectors and assist with the recovery of the Island following Hurricane Fabian by introducing a fifth service on the Bermuda-London route starting next summer," said Philip Troake.

And, in addition with the start of the winter schedule on October 28, the Boeing 777s on the route will feature the airline's business class, Club Word and a new fourth class of travel called World Traveller Plus, which is tailored to the needs of the long-haul economy customers who want extra comfort at an affordable price.

It is expected to give passengers more room and more comfort.

And the new Club World Cabin, which has also been introduced, offering seats in forward and rearward facing pairs has so far proven successful.

Each armchair-style seat converts into a fully-flat six-foot bed at the touch of a button, and the new lounge-style layout of the cabin is designed to maximise personal space and privacy, with each seat also featuring individual privacy screens.

All flights between Bermuda and London will have the new products from the end of October.
