One accident saw a motorcyclist apparently lose control and smash into a roadside object at Smith?s.

A 38-year-old Smith?s man ? who claimed to be the passenger ? was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with cuts to his chin and left knee and minor arm and leg injuries. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Officers could not confirm who the driver was.

In the third crash of the morning, a truck collided collided with a Belco pole in Middle Road, Smith?s - and snapped it in two.

Police closed off a section of road after the accident near the junction with Verdmont Road as utility workers repaired the damage. Thieves drove a Hamilton Parish resident potty ? when they swiped three palm trees from outside a house.

The trees were being grown in plastic tubs in the yard of the Radnor Road property.

Police said they were stolen sometime earlier last week. They were reported missing on Thursday morning.

Police broke up a large-scale brawl when several patrol units swooped in Pembroke.

The fight happened on Fentons Drive on Thursday at about 7.40 p.m. A force spokesman said ?several individuals? were caught up in the violence.

The men fled on foot, however, when officers arrived.

Patrols, who stayed in the neighbourhood and carried out searches, had initially been called to a reported disturbance on nearby Curving Avenue. A search of the area revealed no problems.

A van has been stolen from Southampton.

The white Nissan Vanette ? registration L0868 ? was driven away from outside a business on Well Bottom, overnight on Saturday. Nothing was stolen from inside the property.

Police said the missing vehicle has blue writing on the front doors and an ?Arctic? logo.

Anyone with information should call the Vehicle Crime Unit on 299-4316.
