Belco to name centre after Cox

Family donates land to Trust
A family that used to live in Bermuda have donated 12 hectares of family-owned land to the Nova Scotia Nature Trust. The land is behind Purcell's Cove in Halifax and was originally purchased by Captain Kenneth Carstairs Arnell. Capt. Arnell lived in Bermuda with his family. His wife, Helen Arnell, was a founding member of The Bridge Club in Bermuda and their daughter Jill Field Alexander attended the Bermuda High School for Girls. The Arnell family used to spend summers in Nova Scotia to escape Bermuda's hot weather. It was Mrs. Field Alexander's six sons who donated the land. Her sons want the land to remain untouched forever so that people can enjoy nature hikes and swimming in the pond even though they live in a city. It has already become a popular spot for nature enthusiasts.
