Police are investigating a reported breaking and entering incident at a Town Hill Road, Smith?s Parish residence.

Police spokesperson Dwayne Caines said sometime between 8 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home and stole US $700 in cash and several items of jewellery.

Inquiries into the incident are underway.

Young Life denied permission to expand

All charities that provide direct services to Bermuda?s elderly and the disabled are being urged to join a new contacts directory which will be published later this year.

The initiative is being led by the National Office for Seniors and the Physically Challenged and the Health Promotion Office, and promises to provide a comprehensive resource for the community.

Thief targets Island Cuisine

The Development Applications Board (DAB) has granted retroactive Planning permission to convert a lower floor area of a Pembroke home into a home school for 15 children.

Louise Beckett of 87 North Shore Road said she was not surprised to hear her application was accepted.

?The application went into Planning in August, 2002,? Mrs. Beckett said.

She said the school had been operating out of her home for a long time.

Her school does not have a name, because then it would be a private school, she said.

The DAB said the school must have a playground which is in accordance with Environmental Health regulations.

Police confirm arson caused bus depot fire

Bermudians are eligible for a fellowship to study for a Masters of Science in Conservation and Biodiversity at the University of Exeter in Cornwall, England.

The Centre for Ecology and Conservation in Cornwall has been successful in gaining funding for three UK Overseas Territories Environment Programme (OTEP) Fellowships for applicants from the UK Overseas Territories.

Dr. Annette Broderick, the co-ordinator of the funding drive, said in a Press release that the course will ?forge new relationships with UK based overseas territories experts to facilitate future environmental programmes.?
