Victor Scott School on Glebe Road in Pembroke was broken into at the weekend, with a host of video and CD equipment being stolen.

And on Monday $200 in cash was stolen from a house on My Lord's Bay Lane in Hamilton Parish.

Inquiries into both incidents are underway.

New plant eyed by Bierman's

Bierman's Concrete Products is planning to upgrade its machinery.

Owner Mike Bierman said the plant would increase production tremendously.

He spoke yesterday after a recent four-hour breakdown interrupted operations but he said the company was now back in full production.

He said: "We are making an application to put in a whole new block plant."

New appeal for witnesses

Police are again appealing for witnesses to the accident which landed 21, year old Damika Gibbons in the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU).

Yesterday a hospital spokesperson said Ms Gibbons remains in ICU in stable condition.

The single vehicle road traffic accident happened on Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke on Friday.

Construction site break-ins probed

Police are investigating two break-ins at construction sites.

A pump was stolen from a Devonshire construction site last week.

Police said the culprit entered the pump room of a house under construction on Brighton Hill and stole a Meyers pump worth $495.

In a separate incident, Police said someone broke into another construction site on Jubilee Road in Devonshire last week.

The thieves stole a 13-inch television and drank some beers from the refrigerator. Inquiries are underway.

Writ filed against riding centre

A writ has been filed against Spicelands Riding Centre by the father of a child who allegedly sustained an injury at the centre.

When contacted this week, Douglas Hillen, of Devonshire, said he could not go into detail about the writ, except to say that his daughter was a minor.

He also would not say how serious his daughter's injury was, or when it allegedly occurred at the riding centre in Warwick.

Mr. Hillen said the matter would hopefully be resolved in court in the near future.

Laptop stolen from school

Police are investigating the theft of a laptop computer from Spice Valley Middle School.

Officers went to the Warwick school on Wednesday morning and spoke with the deputy principal who said that sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday someone broke into a classroom and stole a silver Gateway laptop computer.

School principal Dawnelle Walker refused to comment further.
