Thief hits St. David?s home where it hurts

New students start off with the right stuff

Minister of Education Terry Lister told Spice Valley Middle School scholars that they will continue to find success as long as they follow their goals.

The school honoured last year?s scholars at an awards assembly on Monday.

Mr. Lister was the keynote speaker and said there was a ?sense of quiet confidence? at the school.

He applauded the number of parents who attended the assembly and said how important and valuable it was for them to be involved with their children?s education.

Mr. Lister told the students that the awards acted as a ?springboard? for greater success in the future.

He emphasised the importance of perseverance in the path to success.

Mr. Lister quoted Abraham Lincoln: ?I may be a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.?

He added that the students will continue to find success if they follow their goals.

?Education is an integral part of your future,? he told the students.

The school thanked Mr. Lister for his words of wisdom and encouragement and presented him with a Spice Valley t-shirt.
