Police are appealing to the public for information on her whereabouts and anyone with information should contact the Juvenile and Domestic Crime Unit on 299-4280.

Police also issued a warning that anyone harbouring a juvenile is committing an offence, which is punishable by law.

The 14,700 ton bulk carrier Balboa had a fire in the ship's engine room in the early hours of Saturday morning after an engineer inadvertently pumped waste oil onto the machinery which ignited.

The ship was on route to Rotterdam and was 425 miles east-southeast of Bermuda when the alert was sent to Harbour Radio.

It contacted the ship and the captain reported having activated the onboard extinguisher system in the engine room which extinguished the fire.

The US Coast Guard diverted a nearby ship Harvest to assist the vessel, while investigations to the cause were carried out and the mishap with the waste oil was discovered. The ship later resumed its passage on full power.

The Farmers' Market will not be operating as normal out of Bulls Head parking lot this Saturday because they will be making a special appearance at the Agricultural Exhibition, according to organiser Frances Eddy.

Although not all the regular vendors will be able to attend, she said, the normal range of goods should be available.

Police are also investigating the theft of a mobile phone from a car parked in Joell's Alley.

A thief who broke into Bermuda Wines and Spirits on Front Street over the weekend made off with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

Police are investigating a report that between 9.30 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday someone broke into the building.

A thief stole a Panasonic VCR and a chainsaw from a Hamilton Parish home.

A Police spokesman said the Panorama Drive residents believed the incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

And a global positioning system and a pre-programmed cartridge were stolen off a boat in a west end boat yard.

A Police spokesman said the complainants thought the incident happened early in the week.

The thief broke into the Wellcraft cabin cruiser and stole a Garmin Colour GPS unit and a Blue Chart pre-programmed cartridge.

Inquiries into the incident are underway.

MR Onions owner Phillip Talbot has been put off the road for a further year after admitting driving while disqualified.

Talbot, 45, of Mission Road, Paget, pleaded guilty at Magistrates Court on Thursday to driving while disqualified on Trimingham Road, Paget, on April 3.

But he denied driving while impaired and having more alcohol in his blood than the legal limit on the same date.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves fined Talbot $1,000 for driving while disqualified and banned him from driving for a further year.

He will face trial on the impaired driving and having excess alcohol charges.

Good Friday was not that kind to three men who were arrested by the Police Support Unit.

The three men were taken in for possession of a controlled drug, impaired driving and an outstanding arrest warrant.

PSU officers also made two arrests on Saturday - one for drinking in public and the other for an outstanding arrest warrant.
