Passports needed for US
Bermudians will need a passport to enter the United States by air or sea from January 8 next year.
The US departments of Homeland Security and State announced the change in a statement released on Friday.
The new rule applies to citizens of Bermuda, the US, Canada and Mexico entering the US from any part of the western hemisphere and was originally due to come into force on January 1.
The US is asking for comments from the public on the plan. They can be made before September 24 by visiting http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01jan20061800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2006/06-6854.htm.
Two break-ins in Pembroke
Two Pembroke residents and a Warwick home were broken into on Saturday.
Police reported that early Saturday morning an unknown culprit stole coins from a Stowe Court, Pembroke residence. Later that day a resident of Point Shares Road told Police that a robber stole three gold rings.
Police also attended a reported burglary at a Tamarind Vale home in Warwick. The thief stole $500 in cash from the home.
Burglar stole gold chain
A burglar stole a gold coloured chain and football pendant, a gold ladies engagement ring and $24 from a Cameron Close, Smith's Parish home on Thursday.
And Police are also investigating the theft of 100 Euros from a Middle Road, Smith's home on Thursday morning.
