Accident traps driver in car
A driver suspected of driving while impaired had to be cut from the wreckage of his car after an accident in Southampton at about 11 p.m. on Monday.
Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said details of the mishap, near Industrial Park Road and Middle Road, were unclear, but the car overturned and the driver suffered minor injuries.
The driver was arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired.
Police investigate Sandys robbery
Police are investigating a robbery in Sandys at about 10.15 p.m. on Monday.
A police spokesman said the victim, a 51-year-old Sandys man, was walking home and took a short cut across the West End Primary School field when he was approached by three men.
He said the three suspects proceeded to assault the man, removing a black backpack containing about $250 in cash, a cellular phone and other personal items.
The victim sustained a cut lip in the altercation, but declined medical attention and was also unable to provide a description of his assailants.
Inquiries are under way.
Man punched after being asked the time
A 25-year-old Paget man was punched in the face and robbed by two thieves who asked him the time.
The victim was walking along South Shore Road near Warwick Long Bay playground when he was approached by the men on Sunday.
According to Police, when the victim looked down at his watch one of the two assailants held him while the other punched him and stole his wallet.
It contained $5 in cash and other personal items. One of the thieves ran off while the other escaped on a motorbike.
The victim was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Police arrested a suspect a short time later near Hayward's grocery on Middle Road in Warwick.
Dispute outside store results in eye injury
A Somerset man was taken to hospital following a fight outside Arnold's supermarket in Somerset last Tuesday.
The 35 year old told Police he was in a row with an acquaintance over money. He was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for an injury to his left eye. Police are investigating.
Arrest made in Southampton slashing
Police arrested a man in connection with the Saturday slashing of a Southampton man in his house.
The 30-year-old victim was attacked with a machete in the Horseshoe Road property.
He underwent surgery for head wounds at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Sunday.
