A 29-year-old Pembroke man appeared in Magistrates' Court on Friday to face allegations of sexual assault.The Rambling Lane man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was not required to enter a plea for the indictable offence.He is accused of entering a female's home in Pembroke on November 14 and sexually assaulting her.

Man on sexual assault charge

A 29-year-old Pembroke man appeared in Magistrates' Court on Friday to face allegations of sexual assault.

The Rambling Lane man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was not required to enter a plea for the indictable offence.

He is accused of entering a female's home in Pembroke on November 14 and sexually assaulting her.

He was released on $5,000 bail and required to have a surety.

His bail stipulated that he was not allowed "interfere" with the complainant or come within 200 yards of her.

Driver charged

A 28-year-old Warwick woman was accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a man with her car at Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Christine Scott, of Peak Lane, was not required to plead to the indictable offences.

She was charged with driving while under the influence on June 11 and hitting a man on Glebe Road .

She was also charged with driving without a valid licence, without third party insurance, failing to stop after being involved in an accident and causing bodily harm by reckless driving.

She was released on $5,000 bail and required to get a surety.

She will return to court on December 2.

Car abandoned

A driver deserted his car and left the scene of an early morning accident on Harrington Sound Road yesterday.

Police attended a reported single vehicle collision in Smith's parish at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

They found a grey MG Rover with extensive damage, but no driver or occupants.

It appears that the driver was crashed into a wall while trying to negotiate the windy road. He crashed into a wall near the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Odyssey Drive.

Police searched nearby for the driver but failed to find anyone and are still investigating the incident.
