Boat parade route

The parade will assemble at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and then perform two circuits clockwise of the following course:Eastwards to a point in Hamilton Harbour off No. 8 Dock, south towards Red Hole, passing south of Whites Island, north of Musson's Point south west towards Darrell's Wharf, north west passing between Spectacle Island and Reid Island, east along the Pembroke shoreline to Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.

ROUTE

The parade will assemble at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and then perform two circuits clockwise of the following course:

Eastwards to a point in Hamilton Harbour off No. 8 Dock, south towards Red Hole, passing south of Whites Island, north of Musson's Point south west towards Darrell's Wharf, north west passing between Spectacle Island and Reid Island, east along the Pembroke shoreline to Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.

The parade is expected to finish about 8.30 p.m.

At 8 p.m. there will be a fireworks display from White's Island.

Bleaches will be erected on the dockside in the Front Street area for spectators. Food vendors will be setting up in the area of No. 5 Dock, under the Horse Canopy and at the No. 1 Shed taxi stand.

BARRIERS

Corporation of Hamilton will barrier off the parking areas on the southern side of Front Street between Parliament Street and Point Pleasant Road to make these areas a pedestrian area only. Additional 'no parking' areas will include:

North Roundabout at the western junction with The Lane

Stowe Hill at the junction with Harbour Road

Pomander Road at the junction with Harbour Road

Highwood Lane at the junction with Harbour Road

Valley Road at the junction with Harbour Road.

MARINE CONTROLS

Between the hours of 5 and 10 p.m. Hamilton Harbour east of a line between Saltus Island and Musson Point:

a) Will be closed to all normal marine traffic

b) Will have a five knot no wake restriction in place for all boats operating in that area.

TRAFFIC CONTROLS

These will be in effect within the City of Hamilton from 4to 9 p.m.

Point Pleasant Road will be closed to all traffic. However, buses from the Extended Care Unit and the Bermuda Physically handicapped will be allowed access and be allowed to park in Albouys Point.

Harbour Road between Manse Road to Stowe Hill and The Lane between Stowe Hill and North Roundabout will become a one-way area from 6p.m. to 9 p.m.

Within this one-way area, vehicles will be allowed to park on the northern side of the road. Vehicles on the southern side of the road will be kept moving.

NO PARKING

Parking will be prohibited for all vehicles (including motor cycles) on the south side of Front Street from Parliament Street to the Ferry Terminal

Parking will be prohibited for all vehicles (including motor cycles) in No. 5 Car Park.

There will also be no parking at:

Manse Road between Middle Road and Harbour Road on both sides of the road.

Chapel Road between Middle Road and Harbour Road on both sides of the road.

Cavendish Road on the south of the road between Lane Hill and Spurling Hill.
