Brazen robber stages closet act
Four hundred dollars was not enough loot for a brazen robber, who demanded that a Devonshire man remain in a closet while he continued to search his home.
The Railway Trail resident told Police on Friday that a masked man entered his house and demanded money. The complainant gave the man $400, but said that the robber demanded more.
The robber made the man go into a closet and told him to stay there while he searched the house for valuables. After a while, thinking that the intruder had gone, the resident emerged from the closet and ran out of his house, screaming for help. At this time, the robber came running through the house, and spotting him, the complainant slammed the door in his face, leaving the intruder in the house.
But the robber, determined to make good his escape, left on a bike that was parked outside.
Besides cash, he got away with some clothes and a telephone.
