Breaking News: Anderson, Stovell, Borden in tri-series cricket squad

Bermuda head coach David Moore has named Jason Anderson, Dion Stovell and Delyone Borden in a 15-man squad for the tour to Canada next month.

As expected Malachi Jones is recalled, and also included are bowling trio Tamauri Tucker, Kyle Hodsall and Kavon Fubler, while Jordan DeSilva, who Moore said was ‘exhausted’ after a heavy summer workload, has been left out.

With injuries ruling out Stephen Outerbridge, Janeiro Tucker, Stefan Kelly, and Justin Pitcher, work commitments depriving Moore of Irving Romaine, OJ Pitcher, and Dwayne Leverock the squad has a slightly strange look to it.

There are six opening batsmen - David Hemp, Anderson, Stovell, Chris Foggo, Terryn Fray, Fiqre Crockwell - five pace bowlers and three spinners. And, as well as potentially opening the batting, Anderson will also keep wicket.

“Stovell and Anderson are the form cricketers on the Island, so they picked themselves,” said Moore. “It is good to have Jones back, it’s good to have Borden back, he’s a proven international cricketer, and the bottom line is, I just want the best players, playing for Bermuda, who are willing to put the effort in.”

Squad: D Hemp, J Anderson, D Borden, F Crockwell, D Stovell, C Foggo, T Fray, K Tucker, K Hodsall, J West, M Jones, R Trott, T Tucker, J Gilbert, K Fubler.
