Breaking News: Five-year sentence for brutal mob attack

Three men were each sentenced to five years’ imprisonment today for their involvement in the brutal beating of Temasgan Furbert.

Kyle Tannock Williams, 28, Bennett Phipps, 26, and Kiwuan Gilbert, 23, were each found guilty on May 5 of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Their attorneys argued that Mr. Furbert had antagonised his attackers by throwing stones. Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves dismissed the idea that it was a mitigating factor.

During the trial, Mr. Furbert described how he was attacked near his home by a group of 20 to 25 men on February 27 last year.

His attackers punched and kicked him, as well as using an electric drill, bats machetes and a cane, continuing the assault even after he lost consciousness.
