Pensioners will see a slight delay in the posting of cheques into their bank accounts tommorow, Government warned this evening.
The Department of Social Insurance said only Bank of Butterfield customers would be affected. The problem was caused by “system-wide technical issues” that hit Government computers today.
Said a spokesperson: “Bank of Butterfield customers who would've normally received their pension cheques tomorrow (December 15) morning, will instead see their cheques posted in their accounts tomorrow afternoon.
“As a note, the technical delay does not affect customers with HSBC/Bank of Bermuda accounts. Government apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to its valued customers.”
