The rate on inflation appears to have stabilised, according to a report issued this morning by Government’s statistics department.
The report said consumers paid 1.2 per cent more in July compared to the same month last year, but the figure was unchanged from the inflation level reached in June.
Food prices had greatest impact on inflation and on average, the cost of food items increased 4.9 percent year-over-year.
The health and personal care, and rent sectors also impacted strongly on the annual rate of inflation, as price shifts in these sectors were 6.5 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.
