A 23-year-old St. George’s man was today charged in connection with the machete attack on national squad cricketer George O’Brien Jr.

Dimitrius Gibbons appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning, where he was accused of unlawfully wounding Mr. O’Brien on July 19, causing grievous bodily harm.

He was represented by attorney Llewellyn Peniston. Gibbons remained silent, only speaking when asked for his age.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Gibbons on $5,000 bail with a surety of a like amount.
