Premier Ewart Brown’s press secretary is stepping down less than six months in the post.

Bermudian Arnold Minors assumed the role on October 1.

Dr. Brown announced the move at a press conference this afternoon.

“I would like to announce that effective the end of this week we will no longer have the services of Mr. Arnold Minors as the press secretary for my office,” the Premier said. “However Mr. Minors has agreed to remain with us in the capacity of speech writer and we can expect to see him around.”

Dr. Brown did not give any more information and Mr. Minors declined to comment on why he’s stepping down or whether he will be replaced.

Mr. Minors returned to Bermuda to replace Glenn Jones as Dr. Brown’s press secretary last fall. He had spent the previous 45 years living in Toronto, Canada.
