Breaking News: Two men on attempted murder charge

Two men appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with attempted murder.Bryce Leonard Place, 36, of Khyber Heights Lane, Warwick and Jamel Evans, 37, of Spring Benny Road, Sandys, were charged with attempting to murder Jahvonne James on Saturday, in Warwick.The pair were alternatively charged with unlawfully wounding Mr. James with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Two men appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with attempted murder.

Bryce Leonard Place, 36, of Khyber Heights Lane, Warwick and Jamel Evans, 37, of Spring Benny Road, Sandys, were charged with attempting to murder Jahvonne James on Saturday, in Warwick.

The pair were alternatively charged with unlawfully wounding Mr. James with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Place and Evans were also charged with having a bladed article over three inches, specifically a machete, in a public place. They were further accused of possessing two martial arts swords in public.

Evans was solely charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by giving a false name to Police when arrested.

The defendants were not required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court.

Both men were offered $25,000 bail by Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner under the conditions that they must stay away from any witnesses and Mr. James.

The matter will be mentioned in court on December 1.
