CableVision?s free trial blunder

CableVision has extended its offer of a free trial viewing of extra channels after technical glitches took down the service.

The offer was supposed to last from Christmas Eve until Monday, January 3 but was withdrawn yesterday after continuing technical difficulties.

However later the company announced the problem had been fixed and would run for two extra days.

Some viewers had been able to access the free channels while some areas never got the service.

General manager Jeremy Elmas said Bermuda CableVision became aware of a computer glitch on Wednesday which affected the free channels being offered to customers as a holiday gift.

?The error was corrected this morning, and to ensure customers are able to tune into those channels which they haven?t yet explored, CableVision will extend the free channel viewing by an additional two days until 8 a.m. on January 5.

?Analog customers should be able to access the following channels at no additional charge: 2-56 and 70-74.

?Digital customers should be able to access 100-138, 300-301, 310-311, 320-327, 330-334 and 340.?

Channels 70-74 can be found between 300 and 340 on the digital services alongside extra movie channels.

Mr. Elmas continued: ?The offer applies to all existing CableVision customers and all CableVision channels with the exception of pay-per-view.

?CableVision apologises to those customers who were unable to access all of the free channels and thanks them for their ongoing patronage.?
