<Bt-4>CC titles on the line
THE final race in the National Cross Country Championships will be staged on Sunday morning at the Arboretum. And many of the titles in the various age groups will be up for grabs. The juniors go off at 8:30 while the senior runners start at 9:00. The courses range from two to 7.5 miles.
Aaliyah Nolan in the Under 10 Girls also only has a six-point lead over second-place Dezhane West while the race is even tighter in the Under 12 Boys where Nakeno Creighton has a slim two-point lead over Dage Minors. In the Under 12 Girls there are only two points separating leader Kyla Bolden and Shuntae Hendrickson.
The Under 14 Boys sees Adlai Teye-Botchway on 42 points while Tre Simons is on 40 points. Botchway has competed in all five races so far while Simons has only competed in four races — and he has won all four.
Megan Berry leads the Under 14 Girls — six points over Ashley Taylor Bean while Sean Trott has a good 16-point lead over Matthew Spring in the Under 17 Boys. But Spring has only competed in two races this season and won both.
Deanne Lightbourne has a 16-point lead over Alexis Bean in the Under 17 Girls while Tiara Simmons is the sole competitor in the Under 20 women.
Joanna Shillington (20-39 women) has a healthy lead over Dawn Richardson — but Richardson has only come out for two races and has won both.
Carol Griffiths leads the 40-49 women while Edwina Arorash is on top in the 50-59 women.
Lee Harrison has only two points on Geoff Blee in the 40-49 men while the Flying Scott Mike Whalley leads the Over 50 men.
