Bermuda College has formed a partnership with the Intermediaries and Reinsurance Underwriters Association (IRU) to offer a Reinsurance Training Series for individuals and businesses.

The three-day courses will begin in October and include Fundamentals of Reinsurance, Reinsurance Accounting and Reinsurance Auditing.

All classes will be held at the Bermuda College Centre for the Professional and Career Education (PACE) training rooms.

The College said these courses will provide the essential tools and techniques necessary for practitioners to effectively operate in today?s business environment.

The courses offer participants an enhanced understanding of reinsurance terms, pricing and programme structuring, as well as the use of facultative certificates.

Each course will give insight into fundamental reinsurance theory and practices and all are suitable for persons active in the Bermuda reinsurance marketplace or dealing with large international insurance programmes, the College said.

Classes are structured in an informal workshop format and are limited in enrolment in order to encourage interaction among participants and instructors.

This commitment to classroom style teaching is designed to give an effective and personal learning experience to all participants.
