An impaired driver involved in an accident in Smith's has been barred from the road.

Police asked Pembroke resident Alan Wainwright if he had been drinking. A court was told the defendant was over the limit ? and later added: "It's coming out of my pores."

He appeared before magistrates on Tuesday and admitted impaired driving after a court heard his bike struck a car on South Road, Smith's on September 2.

Wainwright, 46, of Tulo Lane, told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner: "It's just one of those days."

He added that he had co-operated fully with officers at the crash scene.

The defendant was fined $1,500 and banned from driving all vehicles for two years.
