Death crash driver appears in court

The driver in a car accident which killed 19-year old Troylisha Outerbridge in March of this year has been charged with her death.

Tarik White, 23, of Hamilton Parish, was also charged with dangerous driving, and causing actual bodily harm to passengers in the car Jeron Douglas, Jelani Hollis and Tashae Bean.

The accident took place on North Shore Road on an embankment at Shelly Bay field in the early hours of March 7. Miss Outerbridge, of Broken Hill Lane in Smith's, was pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital at 4.30 a.m.

The other passengers suffered bruising and leg injuries, while White received a broken rib and a lung injury.

The charges are indictable and will therefore be tried in Supreme Court. White appeared in Magistrates' Court before Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves yesterday to hear the charges.

Mr. Greaves released White on $5,000 bail with a surety.

White, who is represented by lawyer Peter Farge, is to have no contact with witnesses in the Crown's case and has already surrendered all his travel documents.

He will appear in Supreme Court on December 3 for mention.
