Devonshire North West: Cox rolls to easy win
Progressive Labour Party favourite Paula Cox enjoyed a landslide victory last night in Devonshire North West against the United Bermuda Party's Christian Dunleavy.
The results however came as no shock: "I thank my constituents for their support in Devonshire North West and I thank them for trusting me, as many of them are not my core supporters," said Ms Cox.
"I thank them for putting their trust in me and I thank God for assisting me yet again."
After the results were counted, Ms Cox said she was pleased with the outcome, despite the fact that turnout was considered average.
Mr. Dunleavy, who was running for the first time, said: "I am not going to disappear from the political scene. I'll keep working on the issues at all levels... I have been doing that for years.
"I thank the people who did come out to support me and the Island as a whole. I thought that I could help because I grew up in this neighbourhood and I know what the issues are and I lived in a Bermuda Housing Corporation home.
"I want to deal with the real issues."
