Drivers' points system set to be introduced
Government is to implement a points system for traffic offences with those who reach a limit being temporarily banned from the road.
The Throne Speech on Friday said the new system will encourage safer and more courteous road use and remove any perception of bias in sentencing as well as make road users more responsible.
However the public can look forward to more neighbourhood minibus services.
These routes are designed to supplement the main bus routes and provide access to public transportation in those areas where buses are unable to provide service.
A feeder commuter bus pilot scheme was successful piloted in Warwick earlier this year.
Transport Permanent Secretary Marc Telemaque said the route would very likely be revived while others would be added.
He could not say how many other routes would be added or where they would be but said the pattern would be to add routes going north to south to link up isolated communities with the bus system which generally runs east to west.
In most cases minibuses carrying about 25 people will be laid on.
