The car was found by Police on its roof shortly after 5.25 p.m.

Crown counsel, Oonagh Vaucrosson told the court how Police spoke to Smith on the scene of the accident.

She said Police could smell alcohol on his breath, his eyes were glazed and his speech was slurred.

He was arrested and because of his injuries was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Smith $1,000 and disqualified him from driving for 12 months.
