The Department of Tourism yesterday launched a summer entertainment initiative which includes an Admiral?s Feast, Gombey Carnival Beach Fete and a Flatts Village Festival.

Tourism Minister Ewart Brown said Bermuda?s local entertainment scene will begin to sizzle on May 31 with a series of activities designed to give visitors something to do after the sun goes down.

He introduced Glenn Blakeney of Paradigm Productions, who will be working with the Department of Tourism to supply the local entertainment.

The festivities will begin at Dockyard with an Admiral?s Feast to be held every Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. including a medieval and cultural production with host Bryan Darby.

Mr. Darby, the ?Admiral?, will lead tourists through the history of the Maritime Museum, to be followed by a 17th Century style meal.

Meanwhile, ?Tony and Tina?s Wedding? ? Broadway?s longest running comedy ? is being revived in Bermuda at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. as of next week.

The Gombey Carnival Beach Fete is designed to be a non-stop party for those who enjoy ?living it up? on the beach under the stars.

It will take place every Wednesday from 8 to 10 p.m. from June 1 at Horseshoe Bay Beach.

Entertainment for this event includes the Gombeys, the Island?s hottest Reggae and Soca bands as well as African and Limbo dancers.

Finally, the Flatts Village Festival will be a celebration of song, dance and village delights in the quaint centre of Flatts.

This free event will be held every Monday evening.

Dr. Brown once again encouraged visitors and tourists alike to visit Dockyard for the ?Destination Dockyard? event on Tuesday nights.

He said the Harbour Night-like experience brings Dockyard to life every Tuesday when the Royal Caribbeanor cruise ships are in port.
