Saturday
6 a.m. Tropical Storm Erin is a threat to the Island as it is forecast to pass 55 nautical miles (nm) to the northeast of Bermuda by early Monday morning.
Noon A Hurricane Watch is issued with the onset of hurricane winds possible over Bermuda within 36 hours.
6 p.m. Erin is upgraded to a Category One Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 65 knots and gusts to 80 knots near its centre. Erin is set to pass 15 nm to the northeast on Sunday afternoon, with hurricane force winds exceeding 65 knots hitting the island at that time. The Bermuda Weather Service issue a Hurricane Warning.

3.30 a.m. Erin is now a Category Two Hurricane, with winds of 90 knots and gusts to 105 knots. Erin is 200 nm east-southeast of Bermuda, and is forecast to pass further to the northeast of the Island at 80 nm on Sunday evening.
6 a.m. Hurricane Erin is 160 nm from the island, and is threatening the marine area with tropical storm force winds of 34 knots or more within the next few hours. Winds of up to 100 knots are expected over open waters, with the chance of severe thunderstorms and tornado activity, as the intensifying system approached its closest point to Bermuda. This point now forecast to be 60nm to the east-southeast at 6 p.m.
8 p.m. Erin had been upgraded to a Category 3 Hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 100 knots and gusts to 120 knots near its well-defined eye as it passes Bermuda at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening, at 90 nm to the north east. Tropical storm force winds exceed 34 knots in the marine area. Winds gusts of 47 knots are recorded by RCC Bermuda Harbour Radio.
