Youth camp leader Mark Thorne went diving for mussels but came up with a gun off Tamarind Vale Dock yesterday.

He was with his group of nine to 14-year-olds on a snorkelling trip when he dived down ten feet to get shell fish for bait and saw the weapon.

?I didn?t hesitate to get it. It was quite big and heavy.?

He brought it ashore and found it was an unloaded ballbearing gun although he said it was still dangerous nonetheless.

?It could certainly kill someone if you shot it enough or at least blind someone.?

Mr. Thorne took it apart to examine it and then Police arrived to remove the weapon. The Fun and Adventure camp leader said: ?It was certainly an adventure.?
