A St. David's father was jailed for four months for stealing 40 cheques yesterday in Magistrates' Court.

Danzworth Darrell, 47, of Cashew City admitted stealing the cheques on February 20 from inside of an unlocked van on Church Street, Hamilton.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves asked if he had anything to say, Darrell replied: “It was because I had been drinking.”

Mr. Greaves replied: “You mean drinking cheques.”
