The Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (Belco) and BF&M Insurance Group announced the winners of the eight annual Festival of the Lights for Charity competition.

In the the residential category in the east end, first place went to Edmund Faria and family while Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Madeiros captured second spot. Third place winner was Doris Brooks.

In the central parishes, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mitchell Jr. won first place with second spot claimed by Mr. Scott Barnes and family. Beverly Tavares grabbed third place.

In the west end, Michael Jean-Jacques was first place winner while Debbie and Donna Ball captured second place. Peter and Karen Marsh were third place winners.

In the community category Cedar Park won.

For the commercial and retail division in the east end, the Corporation of St. George's won.

In the central area, XL Capital Ltd. were victorious and in the western area Sousa's Landscaping Management grabbed top spot.

There were 39 entries this year ? one short of last year's.

A total of $10,250 will be donated by the sponsors of the Festival of Lights in cash prizes to the registered charities of the winners' choice.
