A US Airways flight from St. Maarten in the Dutch West Indies diverted to Bermuda on Saturday night after a passenger took a stroke.
The jet, which was travelling to Philadelphia, touched down in Bermuda around 7.45 p.m. to allow the 54-year-old American man to be taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
US Airways Bermuda station manager Earl Basden said that the man was in a "stable" condition and was being evacuated by plane last night to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
The flight on Saturday night resumed to Philadelphia around an hour after the man was taken off for treatment.
