Give your brain a workout

Students will have a chance to give their brains a workout as the Institute for Talented Students (ITS) launches a Mathematics Olympiad.

Designed for students aged ten to 17, the Mathematics Olympiad will test the logical thinking, ingenuity and insight as well as problem solving abilities of contestants.

Riquette Bonne Smith, executive director of ITS, said it was planned to make the event an annual fixture on the school calendar.

There will be individual competition as well as school team competition. The Olympiad is slated for Sunday, April 17 at Bermuda College but those interested in competing are asked to have their applications in by January 16, 2005. Contact Riquette Bonne Smith on 296-7259 for more information.
