?Half-naked man? used car as changing room at Horseshoe Bay

Visitors and locals alike were shocked recently to see a man getting dressed next to his car at one of Bermuda's most popular tourist spots ? Horseshoe Bay.

Warwick businessman William Smith said he was walking his dog down the road to Horseshoe Bay at about 6 p.m. when he saw the man.

He said the culprit who "should have known better" was in his 40s and was in the process of pulling up his pants.

Mr. Smith said there were some visitors walking up the road towards the bus stop and, from their faces, he could tell they had seen the half-naked man. He added that about 25 children were at the bus stop at the time and they too could have seen him.

"He is an embarrassment to mankind and something should be done to stop him," he said.

Mr. Smith said he called the 295-0011 number for the Police and after holding for more than a minute, when he told Police what was happening, they "hung up" on him.

He said he called back, but could tell they "were not interested".

"If this man wants to meet a woman, he should learn to speak to them, not expose himself to them," he said.

Mr. Smith could not confirm if the man had in fact been completely naked at any time as he arrived when the man was pulling up his pants.

However from the looks on the faces of the visitors the man must have been naked earlier.

"This man is a disgrace to Bermuda and the Department of Tourism should do something to stop this kind of behaviour in public," he said.

Mr. Smith added that he knew it was against the law in Bermuda to "expose yourself" in public and that the Police should have gone to Horseshoe Bay because he was more than ready to testify against the culprit.
