Belco customers in two areas of the Island experienced power outages yesterday. The first blackout affected 20 customers in Flatts Hill, Flatts Village between12.50 and 6.54 p.m.
Linda Smith-Wilson, vice president, Corporate Communications, said this was because workers had to replace a pole that had been damaged in an accident a week ago. Bermuda Telephone Company and Bermuda CableVision also had to take down their services while this work was done.
An outage caused by a cable connection fault in the Hermitage Road area of Smith?s affected around 500 customers between 5 p.m. and 6.45 p.m.
