Inmates to receive transitional housing

Community housing for newly-released prisoners to provide a structured, therapeutic and residential environment has been promised in the Throne speech.
It said the facilities would ease inmates' transition back into society and allow support agencies to maintain vital aftercare contact thereby helping to reduce recidivism.
For those still in prison, programmes to help remediate negative behaviour will be offered in addition to programmes designed to enhance skills and build self esteem.
The Uncommon Results Programme will be introduced to allow inmates to focus on the consequences of their offending behaviour while at the same time encouraging positive change.
