Jazz Festival ferry service

The Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Transport outlined several transport initiatives on Thursday designed to help residents during the 2003 Bermuda Jazz Festival. The festival takes place on October 9-11 at Dockyard.

During the three nights of the festival, Dockyard will be closed to traffic, starting at 5 p.m. until the event's conclusion. Limited parking will be provided just past the entrance gates on Freeport Road. Parking will also be available at Boaz Island and a free ferry service to and from the event will be provided for members of the public who wish to avoid traffic congestion.

The tender Bermudian will provide a round trip Hamilton/Dockyard ferry service all three nights of the Jazz Festival. There is a charge of $10 per passenger per night. Tickets are on sale at the Hamilton Ferry Terminal.

East Enders who wish to travel to the Jazz Festival will be provided round trip service from Ordnance Island to Dockyard, also with a cost of $10 per person. Tickets are on sale at the St. George's Visitors Service Bureau.

Only residents with both Jazz Festival tickets and $10 ferry tickets will be allowed on the ferry. Residents travelling from St. George's on the tender to Dockyard must hold tickets to the festival as well as a $10 ferry ticket. Tickets for the 2003 Bermuda Jazz Festival are on sale at the 27th Century Boutique, Sound Stage and Bermuda Clay Works.
