An alleged kidnapper pleaded not guilty to the charges of deprivation of liberty and wounding in Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Twenty-four year old Micah Straw denied kidnapping a 28-year old Smith's parish woman following a struggle early on Sunday morning and forcing her to drive him home at knifepoint.
The woman claimed she was later able to escape and call Police.
Elizabeth Christopher appeared on behalf of Straw, and Wayne Caines acted as prosecutor.
Straw was bailed for $2,500, with conditions that he has no contact with the complainant, either in writing, or by act, or by coming within 50 feet of her.
He is due to appear for trial on August 29.
