A fisherman who was prosecuted for catching more than the daily limit of rockfish has had his illegal catch sent to a seniors? rest home for dinner.
According to a Government Press release, fisheries wardens successfully completed prosecuting a commercial fisherman who exceeded the one fish per day per boat limit that applies to rockfish.
Following the prosecution, technical officers at the Marine Resources Division conducted a biological sampling of the three fish as part of an ongoing study.
After the sampling was completed, the meat from the three fish was donated to the Warwick Rest Home and the Pembroke Nursing Home for the seniors to enjoy.
