As of yesterday evening 97 Belco customers were still without electricity with the central parishes having the most work to be done.

"Many of these jobs are in progress or on the schedule for tonight so we hope to make further progress," spokeswoman Linda Smith said.

With the central parishes having the most amount of outages the eastern parishes having 32 and the western parishes having 14, Ms Smith said once the east and west parishes were finished additional crews would be out assisting in the central parishes.

"All of our crews and much of our staff have been completely focused on restoration and I think most people recognize that their efforts are obvious. However we are still in the restoration phase and will continue to attack it aggressively until it's complete and then plan and move through rehabilitation," she said.
