Library hooks up to free TV
The Bermuda Youth Library will be hooked up to cable television as part of a community programme offering free and discounted cable services to schools and libraries.
Instead of flicking through the cartoon channels, youngsters will be able to watch educational programmes screened on the History and Discovery channels.
Cable TV provider CableVision is giving eligible organisations one cable outlet free of charge and a discount on additional outlets.
"CableVision has been offering special cable services to schools and libraries in Bermuda for many years," said General Manager Jeremy Elmas.
"There are numerous shows designed to both educate and entertain all age groups, and we are delighted to enable the Youth Library to add its popular range of activities in this way,"
Head Librarian Joanne Brangman said: "We welcome the opportunity to extend our services and would like to thank CableVision for their assistance."
Schools and libraries wishing to take advantage of the programme should contact Bermuda CableVision at 292-5544.
