Itching to read a good book?

Next week is National Library Week and the Bermuda National Library is planning a week of library-inspired activities. "Libraries provide a world of opportunity for all people, regardless of your age, income or background," said head librarian, Joanne Brangman. "Whether you are chocking/chucking out the latest bestseller, researching your college term paper, getting homework help or using the Internet, the library has the resources and staff to help you find what you are looking for."

Activities during the week include:

Storytelling with Florenz Maxwell on April 18 at 3 p.m. at the Adult Library on Queen Street.

Open house to meet the library staff on April 20 at the Adult Library or at the Youth Library on Church Street.

A book sale on April 20 and April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the veranda at Par-La-Ville Park.

Arts and Crafts for children on April 24 on the veranda at Par-La-Ville Park from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The rain location is the Youth Library.

The Bermuda National Library is joining the American Library Association and libraries across the US and around the world to encourage people to use the resources available at libraries.

"National Library Week is a great time to see what's new at your library and how librarians and library workers can provide you with the resources and services you need when you need them," said Ms Brangman.

"We encourage everyone to come check us out."
