Popular Las Vegas radio personality Amie Jo Greer and local businesswoman Keetha Lowe will launch the Bermuda segment of The Amie Jo Show at Corner4Success today on 1450 VSB Gold.
The show will be broadcast from 11 am to noon just before the lunchtime news.
The show, normally broadcast in Las Vegas is ?designed to uplift, empower and motivate others to live their life?s passion?.
It will feature heavyweight guests including Tyler Perry, Angela Winbush, Gladys Knight and Jessie Jackson.
Listeners can also look forward to hearing from a variety of ?shakers, movers and makers? from the corporate, business and entertainment industries in Bermuda and the US.
The Amie Jo Show was born after she got a job writing interviews of celebrities for a friend?s website.
Her next break came after the manager of KCEP-FM 88.1, Lee Winston, a golfing friend of her husband, read her work and invited her to switch to broadcast.
Amie Jo started with a once a week 30-minute show that flourished into an hour-long segment running Monday- Friday 11 a.m. to noon.
The meeting between Amie Jo and Ms Lowe came about through a mutual business colleague. Ms Lowe appeared on the show along with Kevon Edmonds, recording artist/producer and brother of Kenneth ?Babyface? Edmonds.
The two women hit it off and had dinner that night to discuss bridging the gap between Las Vegas and Bermuda through The Amie Jo Show.
Ms Lowe spoke with about the plans for the show and what it will entail.
The show will be broadcast on Bermuda and US airwaves giving Bermudians the opportunity to be exposed to a much larger market.
?In Las Vegas we highlight young, new talent on the station. We will be doing the exact same thing here in Bermuda but it will also broadcast on the airwaves in the US?.
?We also would like to encourage talent exchanges.?.
She said Michael Colyar, the King of Venice Beach, is on Amie Jo?s show in Vegas every Wednesday. They are currently working on him coming to Bermuda to be featured in exchange for a Bermudian to be featured in Las Vegas.
The individual who is awarded the opportunity will get the chance to perform in front of a Vegas audience, perform at a Corner4Success reception complete with people from the corporate to the entertainment world and be featured on the show in Vegas.
Ms Lowe also spoke of the alliances that have been built with stations in the area and other networks.
?This is a lot of exposure for us as a country, us as a people. What it says is Bermuda itself is becoming a part of the global melting pot?.
?It?s not a light matter at all. Very wisely and carefully put together.
The show will debut today on 1450 VSB Gold from 11 a.m. until noon.
