Lumber or bulky waste can no longer be brought to the Tynes Bay Waste Facility until further notice, Government said yesterday.

A spokesperson for the Department of Communication and Information said the facility is operating at reduced capacity with one boiler undergoing routine maintenance.

The other boilers will be used to burn off garbage collected from households.

The public will be notified when normal operations resume.
