A man who admitted speeding at 101 kph told Magistrates' Court he "took a chance" because his wife and mother-in-law were locked out of his house in the dark.
Davon Cann, 37, of Sandys was fined $500 and taken off the road for a year.
Cann was caught speeding on his motorcycle on Harrington Sound Road.
Cann told the court that his wife and mother-in-law were locked out of his house and were waiting in the dark so he took a chance and sped home to give them the house key.
"I would like to apologise ? it was foolish," said Cann.
