Motorcyclists injured in accidents
Two motorists were sent to hospital overnight when they overtook a car turning into a Railway Trail in Warwick.
And a motorcyclist broke both his legs when he was involved in a crash with a car that was turning into a grocery store parking lot on Thursday evening.
Police said last night a collision between a car and a motorcycle in the Cobbs Hill Road area, Warwick at 3.45 p.m. yesterday, resulted in the motorcycle rider and his passenger being sent to hospital.
?Apparently the car was travelling south on Cobbs Hill when the driver turned right into a Railway Trial as a motorcycle also travelling south attempted to overtake,? Police said.
?The driver of the car was not injured but the male rider of the cycle sustained a leg injury while his female passenger received neck and facial injuries.?
Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening, Police said. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
A 51-year-old St. George?s man, suffered two broken legs and cuts to his forehead after his cycle and a car collided as they were travelling east on North Shore Road, near the Empire Grocery Store and a Tribe Road, Devonshire. Police believe that when the car right to enter the parking lot at which point the motorcycle attempted to overtake. Both vehicles collided as a result.
The 39-year-old Smith?s man who was driving the car suffered minor abrasions to his right hand and face as a result of the incident, which happened at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Both vehicles received front end damage.
Police inquiries into both incidents are underway.
